Ragnar Axelsson (RAX) is an internationally known photographer and a true master of the black and white image.For the past fifteen years he has focused on capturing the traditional lifestyles of the far North that are fast dying out. This project has taken him to communities in the Faroe Islands, all over Iceland and to the remotest parts of Greenland.In this documentary the film-maker joins RAX on his trip to the most northerly inhabited area of the world north of the US and Danish military base in Thule, North Greenland. RAX had been there fifteen years earlier hunting the elusive Narwhale with the seasoned hunter Massana. Massana died shortly thereafter so this time he traverses the frozen wasteland in the company of Massana's two sons. They spend 4 days on the ice with 32 dogs, a wife and young child.
